Jeff Pura

Jeff Pura was elected President of the Congregation at its Annual Meeting held early in September 2003.

Jeff Pura is a fourth generation member of St Kilda Shule, his great grandparents joining in 1905 on their move from Carlton to Lambeth Place (off Alma Rd behind the Shule).
There is a strong history of Shule service in the family, great uncle Lou Orbuck was President in the 1950's and late father Colin started the Chronicle some in 1972.
His mother Anne (born in 1916) well remembers the dedication day of the current Shule in 1926.

Jeff spent six years in the United States where post-graduate studies in Chemistry and Business Administration were followed by a stint in Industry.

Marrying Tammy in 1970, they moved to Australia, she for the first time, in 1974.
They have 2 sons - Marc was born in 1975 and Jonathon in 1978 - both are tertiary students and very enterprising young men.

Returning to the Shule for a special occasion almost four years ago, Jeff was overwhelmed by the desire to re-participate in the congregation that played such an important part in his earlier years. He looks forward to having a constructive role on the committee for as long as they will have him.
